Tri-Community Greenway Invasive Species Removal
Help remove invasive plants and restore native habitat along the Tri-Community Greenway. These volunteer workdays support local biodiversity, improve trail conditions, and help protect the health of our community greenway.
Volunteers will work together to identify and remove invasive plant species along sections of the trail. No prior experience is required.
Banned Books Week Kick-off
A handful of people should not be allowed to dictate what the rest of us can read! Organized groups have used fear and disinformation to silence stories and remove books from our libraries, schools, and bookstores. Why can’t they just let books be?
Books are for everyone. Books should be read. Books should be uncensored. Let Books Be. Protect the Freedom to Read.
Join us at The Book Oasis, Sunday October 4th, 1-2pm, to learn more about Banned Books and show your support for the freedom to read.

KSB Dike Square Pollinator Garden Event
Join Keep Stoneham Beautiful to help establish a new native pollinator garden at Dike Square!
Volunteers will help transform approximately 750 square feet of turf into a native garden featuring regionally appropriate grasses and flowering perennials. The garden will support pollinators, improve the site’s ecological value, and reduce long-term maintenance. No gardening experience is required.
Stories That Stay With Us: A Community Discussion
Stoneham Reads 2026 Book Selection: They Called Us Enemy by George Takei, a compelling graphic memoir about his childhood incarceration in Japanese American internment camps during World War II. Forced from their home, Takei’s family endured harsh conditions, including confinement in a converted horse stall and later a guarded prison camp.
Selected to highlight an often-overlooked chapter of American history, this book explores the systemic racism behind the camps, the resilience of families, and the lasting consequences of “othering.”
As we read together, we invite the community to reflect on how experiences of displacement, uncertainty, and resilience - central to many immigrant stories - continue to shape our collective understanding of what it means to belong.
October Community Meal Prep Event
Join us at Community Meal Prep Club, an initiative supported by the Stoneham Community Action Network! Together we will make approximately 100 nourishing meals to donate to The Food Drive Community Freezer Program.

Readers of all ages who can read independently and quietly are welcome.

EV Showcase at the Stoneham Farmers Market
Electric Vehicle Showcase
Curious about going electric? Come see a range of EVs up close at our Show and Tell event, happening right at the Farmer's Market!
Six to seven electric vehicles — spanning different sizes, price points, and brands — will be on display, powered on so you can explore them (test drives won't be offered, but you'll get a real feel for each vehicle). EV ambassador owners will be on hand to share their firsthand experience and answer your questions.

Keep Stoneham Beautiful is organizing pop-up cleanups at schools around town to spruce things up and welcome students back to a cleaner, brighter campus. Stoneham Community Walk Audit
Come join Walk Massachusetts and the STAC Bike Pedestrian Subcommittee to improve Stoneham streets! Help evaluate how safe, accessible, and user-friendly our streets and public spaces are for everyone. This walk audit is part of an ACR grant program focused on identifying infrastructure challenges around heat islands, flooding, and safe mobility — and everyone is welcome, whether you're a resident, business owner, or just interested in community design.
We'll start with a brief overview, then walk together through key areas to observe and discuss opportunities for improvement. Rain or shine (unless severe weather)! Please sign-up to receive important information about the event.
