Welcome to Stoneham Reads 2026
STORIES THAT STAY WITH US
Our book selection this year is
📗“They Called Us Enemy” by George Takei 📗
“They Called Us Enemy” by George Takei captures his story of not only the injustice of incarceration, but also the deep uncertainty his family endured- losing their home, their stability, and their sense of place. We invite readers to consider how the immigrant experience, past and present, is often shaped by resilience in the face of instability, and how those stories continue to resonate across generations.
Through the year, Stoneham Reads will host events and share resources that will allow the community to find small steps they can take to increase their own sustainability in a way that feels manageable and meaningful.
See below for our selection of recommended books on this topic, which includes different genres and age groups. We will also be hosting events and activities tailored to explore these themes.
Through collaboration, we can strengthen our community and ensure a healthier, more sustainable environment for all.
