Silent Reading Night

  • Stoneham Public Library 431 Main Street Stoneham, MA, 02180 United States (map)

Slow down and spend an evening getting lost in a book among friends and neighbors.

Bring a book and join Stoneham Reads for an evening of quiet reading and community connection. After a brief welcome and time to get comfortable, readers can find a cozy spot anywhere in the library and enjoy 45 minutes of uninterrupted reading. We’ll close the evening with an optional discussion and share-outs about what we’re reading, memorable themes, favorite authors, and more.

Readers of all ages who can read independently and quietly are welcome. Any formats are welcome: physical books, e-books, audiobooks, graphic novels, manga, poetry, and more.

Schedule:

  • 6:15-6:30 - Arrive and Greetings

  • 6:35-7:20 - Read Silently

  • 7:25-8:00 - Book share and discussion

Interested in this year’s Stoneham Reads selection? Our 2026 theme is Stories That Stay With Us, featuring “They Called Us Enemy” by George Takei. This, and companion books, are set aside at the library for you to browse and check out. For this evening, you are invited to bring any book you’re reading, or would like to read!
